About Lowry & Baker
An independent café at the quieter north end of Portobello Road that has been open since 2010 and later expanded into the unit next door. It is mainly a breakfast and lunch spot, with sourdough toast dishes and pancakes, and keeps a counter of cakes and sweet treats. Expect the traditional bakery line-up – savouries for lunch, bread for the week and cream cakes for a treat. Signature bakes include organic sourdough toast breakfasts, red velvet pancakes, Velvet Latte and countertop cakes and sweet treats.
Opening hours for Lowry & Baker have not been confirmed. If you know them, you can send them to us and we will update this page. The Food Standards Agency register lists a hygiene rating of 5/5, awarded on 12 May 2026 by Kensington and Chelsea.
Arriving by public transport? Head for Ladbroke Grove Underground station; from there it is a walk of about 7 minutes. It is not the only option nearby: there are 8 more bakeries within a kilometre, so a bakery crawl is easily done. It is about 3.7 mi from the centre of London.
